Play Date Cafe Guest Designer

Hi!  I am excited to be the guest designer for The Play Date Cafe Challenge today.  This weeks challenge is sponsored by Hero Arts and the color scheme was really fun to play with.

I would love you to play along and have a chance to win a Hero Arts shopping spree!  You can find all the challenge details here.

Happy Easter

My kids and I created these fun Easter eggs this year instead of the traditional dyed eggs.  The kids love watching the grass grow and giving the eggs haircuts. ;)  I think we've started a little tradition here.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thank You Notecards

Here is a set of notecards I created for my daughter's ballet teacher.  I used the same design on each, but all different colors of Hero Arts notecards.

The sentiment is from the Essential Messages clear stamp set and the wildflower grass image is from the Earth Flowers stamp set.

And I packaged them very simply in a clear box from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hero Arts Inspiration

On Friday I posted this inspiration photo on the Hero Arts Blog...

And here's the card I created...

The Classic Fabric Design image stamped with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink created the perfect tone on tone background.  And the sentiment is from the Big Hugs clear stamp set...one of my favorites that I turn to time and time again.  To make the buttons lay nice and flat I strung them all onto the same piece of white string and adhered them onto a strip of double-sided adhesive.  Without a knot on the back of each button, they all lay smooth and don't create too much bulk.

birthday boy

I originally created this card to share on the Hero Arts Blog this week, but once I finished I just wasn't happy with it.  I like all the individual elements...the cute patterned paper, the bike stamp.  But it just feels very blah to me.

The only part I really like is the ruler strip with the #6 circled (for the boy's 6th birthday).   I think I'll try to recreate a new card with maybe a new color scheme and a little more dimension.

So, what do you do with your cards your not happy with?  I have a large drawer of these cards and I can't bring myself to just toss them out.  Maybe I need to just find somewhere to donate them.
