three things

1. I created this card using the awesome Zig Zag stamp from Hero Arts. My color combo was inspired by this month's color challenge on the Hero Arts Blog.

2. This past month has been quite busy around here...we moved into our new house and just celebrated Lexi's 2nd birthday last weekend.

3. For quite some time now I've been wanting to do some sewing projects. I've done a couple smaller things and think I'm finally ready to tackle my first quilt. Feeling a bit overwhelmed about where to start. Any advice from some of you sewing experts out there? :)

Hope you are having a great week!

Love that stamp. I almost put it in my bucket and then backed out. Will have to look again next time. As for the quilt - full size or wall quilt? Personally, I like to use a lot of different fabrics as I get quickly bored with repeating the same fabrics too many times. My advice for a full size quilt would be to have solid color alternate blocks or strips so you don't have to piece the entire thing.

Cute card, DARLING cake! As to your quilt, choose fabrics that you love - I, too, get bored doing the same thing over and over, so try a sampler quilt of some kind, either the same block using all different fabrics, or different blocks using 3 or 4 fabrics that you adore. I'd love to see what you choose!

I love that card - how did you get the different colors lined up so perfectly?
On the quilting - a friend of mine just blogged about using Jelly Rolls of fabric, which I never heard of, but it seems like it would make it much less difficult especially if you're just starting. here's the blog post

My mom quilts the traditional way (cutting all those strips of fabric) and it seems really tedious.
